Catholic Schools in Iowa working with Dept. of Homeland Security
By Martin Hill
January 27, 2013

Why would a federal government which continuously refers to pro-lifers as terrorists be invited into private parochial schools by Catholic administrators? Why would The Department of Homeland Security meddle in the operations of an independent educational institution under the guise of "safety", when that very government agency continuously characterizes Catholic conservatives as dangerous extremists? These are some questions which must be answered in the wake of some startling newly-discovered information.

A Parish bulletin insert highlighting "Catholic Schools Week 2013" has revealed that Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Dubuque, Iowa are "Working with resources from Iowa Homeland Security" and "local law enforcement" under the pretext of "ensuring that students and staff are safe at school." The January 27, 2013 bulletin from St. Jude Parish in Cedar Rapids, Iowa outlines the benefits of a parochial school education and also includes a message from Bishop Jerome Hanus, OSB, Archbishop of Dubuque.

The paragraph titled "Safety Standards" states, "Ensuring that students are safe at school is a primary responsibility of school leadership. Working with resources from Iowa Homeland Security, the Iowa Department of Education, local law enforcement and the Archdiocese, all schools are currently reviewing safety procedures to ensure the highest level of security. Administrators are reviewing lockdown procedures, parental notification systems, and facility inspections to make students as safe as possible."

As CBS reported in 2012, a Priest defrocked for child sex abuse now works for TSA. So the Department of Homeland Security hires pervert ex-priests for "sensitive security" management positions. The ex-priest isn't allowed around Catholic school kids via the Catholic church, but then a Catholic Archdiocese hires this very same agency to keep their kids safe. That is dangerous and utterly disgraceful.

Page 3 of the bulletin refers to the Dubuque Diocesan newspaper, and states "Read about these topics and more in the Jan. 27 issue of The Witness: Faith groups begin to muster their members in support of gun controls." An online version of this week's paper is available, but the article "Faith leaders unite over more gun control" is only in the January 27, 2013 print edition.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in addition to other state and federal government agencies, has been revealed in many declassified documents to deem Christians, conservatives, pro-lifers, those who support traditional marriage, and other limited government Constitutional types as "dangerous extremists." DHS even classifies them as potential terrorists. This information is widely documented in mainstream news, with countless examples available in seconds through an internet search.

The Catholic schools and their leadership should be ashamed that they have fallen in collusion with a corrupt agency that uses tactics which Pope Benedict XVI himself has publicly condemned. In February 2010 the Pope condemned the immodest and intrusive body-scanners, stating in part, "Every action, it is above all essential to protect and value the human person in their integrity...Respecting these principles can seem particularly complex and difficult in the present context."

Many Catholics and other prominent Christians have rightly condemned the Department of Homeland Security for targeting pro-life Christian conservatives. Among these critics are Father Frank Pavone of, American Life League president Judie Brown, Sister Anne Flanagan, Former U.S. Rep. Bob Barr, Former Presidential candidate Pastor Chuck Baldwin, Congressman Ron Paul, and many others.

In July 2012 Infowars reported Homeland Security Report Lists "Liberty Lovers" As Terrorists, which stated in part,

"A new study funded by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes Americans who are "suspicious of centralized federal authority," and "reverent of individual liberty" as "extreme right-wing" terrorists. Entitled 'Hot Spots of Terrorism and Other Crimes in the United States, 1970-2008' (PDF), the study was produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland. The organization was launched with the aid of DHS funding to the tune of $12 million dollars.

...The report takes its definitions from a 2011 study entitled Profiles of Perpetrators of Terrorism, produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, in which the following characteristics are used to identify terrorists.

The report also lists people opposed to abortion and "groups that seek to smite the purported enemies of God and other evildoers" as terrorists."

Ironically, the DHS report was released in 2012 precisely as the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Ad Hoc Committee for Religious Liberty released a bold Statement on Religious Liberty. (PDF.) The bishop's report mirrored the very characteristics which DHS demonized:

"Freedom is not only for Americans, but we think of it as something of our special inheritance, fought for at a great price, and a heritage to be guarded now. We are stewards of this gift, not only for ourselves but for all nations and peoples who yearn to be free. Catholics in America have discharged this duty of guarding freedom admirably for many generations. ....We need, therefore, to speak frankly with each other when our freedoms are threatened. Now is such a time. As Catholic bishops and American citizens, we address an urgent summons to our fellow Catholics and fellow Americans to be on guard, for religious liberty is under attack, both at home and abroad. This has been noticed both near and far. Pope Benedict XVI recently spoke about his worry that religious liberty in the United States is being weakened. He called it the "most cherished of American freedoms" - and indeed it is. All the more reason to heed the warning of the Holy Father, a friend of America and an ally in the defense of freedom, in his recent address to American bishops:

Of particular concern are certain attempts being made to limit that most cherished of American freedoms, the freedom of religion. Many of you have pointed out that concerted efforts have been made to deny the right of conscientious objection on the part of Catholic individuals and institutions with regard to cooperation in intrinsically evil practices. Others have spoken to me of a worrying tendency to reduce religious freedom to mere freedom of worship without guarantees of respect for freedom of conscience. Here once more we see the need for an engaged, articulate and well-formed Catholic laity endowed with a strong critical sense vis-à-vis the dominant culture and with the courage to counter a reductive secularism which would delegitimize the Church's participation in public debate about the issues which are determining the future of American society."

The document than goes on to list "Religious Liberty Under Attack - Concrete Examples", including the "HHS mandate for contraception, sterilization, and abortion-inducing drugs", "Discrimination against Catholic humanitarian services", "Altering Church structure and governance", and many others.

The Department of Homeland Security School Safety website states, in part, that "The Safe School Initiative (SSI), established by the U.S. Secret Service and the Department of Education, focuses on prevention and behavior of students who commit acts of targeted violence in our nation's schools." Their program also allegedly "provides awareness-level training" to school employees and "lists a number of reports, white papers, and programs."

They point out "FEMA's Homeland Security Grant Program can be used for planning, purchasing equipment, training, and other efforts to support school security.. They also tout resources which "are available to local law enforcement and school officials to help identify site-specific vulnerabilities, anomalies, or incidents that may precede a terrorist attack or other kind of harmful incident, and certain measures that can be taken to better protect and create a safer environment.. DHS also notes:

The Department of Homeland Security has been exposed for hiring religious clergy to spread government propaganda and convince Americans into submitting to a tyrannical government. In May 2006, broke the story Secret FEMA Plan To Use Pastors as Pacifiers in Preparation For Martial Law, which stated in part,

"Nationwide initiative trains volunteers to teach congregations to "obey the government" during seizure of guns, property, forced inoculations and forced relocation. The FEMA directors told the Pastors that attended that it was their job to help implement FEMA and Homeland Security directives in anticipation of any of these eventualities. The first directive was for Pastors to preach to their congregations Romans 13, the often taken out of context bible passage that was used by Hitler to hoodwink Christians into supporting him, in order to teach them to "obey the government" when martial law is declared.

It was related to the Pastors that quarantines, martial law and forced relocation were a problem for state authorities when enforcing federal mandates due to the "cowboy mentality" of citizens standing up for their property and second amendment rights as well as farmers defending their crops and livestock from seizure. It was stressed that the Pastors needed to preach subservience to the authorities ahead of time in preparation for the round-ups and to make it clear to the congregation that "this is for their own good."

In 2007, KSLA News 12 reported Homeland Security Enlists Clergy to Quell Public Unrest if Martial Law Ever Declared, which asked "Could martial law ever become a reality in America? Some fear any nuclear, biological or chemical attack on U.S. soil might trigger just that. KSLA News 12 has discovered that the clergy would help the government with potentially their biggest problem: Us." (Here is the TV News report and the FEMA document.)

Catholics should educate themselves on these matters and oppose any involvement of the Department of Homeland Security in their children's schools. Federal agencies are not necessary for schools to remain safe. If anything, they send a message of subservience, propaganda and abuse which is harmful to children's well being. In my January 17th article Homeland Security set to grope schoolkids under New York's gun ban, I point out dozens of mainstream news reports in which DHS admittedly hires dangerous child pornographers and sexual perverts, as well as how DHS continuously abuses the public they are purportedly "keeping safe." Recently retired Congressman Ron Paul pointed out that the "sinister" "unspeakably evil" National Defense Authorization Act of 2013 endangers "Christians, gun-owners, and home-schoolers".

I will close with a few excerpts from Papal Encyclicals explaining the proper "nature of the state" for Catholics to ponder. Following that are a number of relevant excerpts and news links on this issue. There have been many official Encyclicals from Popes throughout the centuries which outline that "the state" is not to be considered the answer to all the ills of society.

In his encyclical Summi Pontificatus - 'On the Unity of Human Society', (October 12, 1939) Pope Pius XII wrote

"60. To consider the State as something ultimate to which everything else should be subordinated and directed, cannot fail to harm the true and lasting prosperity of nations. This can happen either when unrestricted dominion comes to be conferred on the State as having a mandate from the nation, people, or even a social order, or when the State arrogates such dominion to itself as absolute master, despotically, without any mandate whatsoever. If, in fact, the State lays claim to and directs private enterprises, these, ruled as they are by delicate and complicated internal principles which guarantee and assure the realization of their special aims, may be damaged to the detriment of the public good, by being wrenched from their natural surroundings, that is, from responsible private action.

"61. Further, there would be danger lest the primary and essential cell of society, the family, with its well-being and its growth, should come to be considered from the narrow standpoint of national power, and lest it be forgotten that man and the family are by nature anterior to the State, and that the Creator has given to both of them powers and rights and has assigned them a mission and a charge that correspond to undeniable natural requirements.

"62. The education of the new generation in that case would not aim at the balanced and harmonious development of the physical powers and of all the intellectual and moral qualities, but at a one-sided formation of those civic virtues that are considered necessary for attaining political success, while the virtues which give society the fragrance of nobility, humanity and reverence would be inculcated less, for fear they should detract from the pride of the citizen....

"...71. The idea which credits the State with unlimited authority is not simply an error harmful to the internal life of nations, to their prosperity, and to the larger and well-ordered increase in their well-being, but likewise it injures the relations between peoples, for it breaks the unity of supra-national society, robs the law of nations of its foundation and vigor, leads to violation of others' rights and impedes agreement and peaceful intercourse."

In his encyclical Mater Et Magistra - On Christianity and Social Progress (May 15, 1961), Pope John XXIII wrote:

"34. Pope Pius XI further emphasized the fundamental opposition between Communism and Christianity, and made it clear that no Catholic could subscribe even to moderate Socialism. The reason is that Socialism is founded on a doctrine of human society which is bounded by time and takes no account of any objective other than that of material well-being. Since, therefore, it proposes a form of social organization which aims solely at production, it places too severe a restraint on human liberty, at the same time flouting the true notion of social authority."

In his encyclical Deus Caritas Est - On Christian Love (December 25, 2005), Pope Benedict XVI wrote

"The State which would provide everything, absorbing everything into itself, would ultimately become a mere bureaucracy incapable of guaranteeing the very thing which the suffering personevery personneeds: namely, loving personal concern. We do not need a State which regulates and controls everything, but a State which, in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity, generously acknowledges and supports initiatives arising from the different social forces and combines spontaneity with closeness to those in need."

Following are four sections which succinctly spell out the numerous problems with the so-called Department of Homeland Security:

HOMELAND SECURITY DEMONIZES CHRISTIANS, CONSERVATIVES AND PRO-LIFERS: notes "As we exclusively reported in 2006, a story that was later confirmed by KSLA news agency the following year, FEMA has created "Clergy Response Teams" trained by the federal government to "quell dissent" and pacify citizens to obey the government in the event of a declaration of martial law. The program recruited pastors and other religious representatives to become secret police enforcers who teach their congregations to "obey the government" in preparation for the implementation of martial law, property and firearm seizures, mass vaccination programs and forced relocation.

In July 2012 former U.S. Rep. Bob Barr wrote Homeland Security continues to demonize conservatives and libertarians, stating

"The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START), which provides research analysis to DHS, issued a report in January offering what it presents as an historical look at terrorist "hot spots" around the country from 1970 to 2008. The report may appear innocuous, but it is not. It offers a carefully scripted but insidious analysis of Americans who happen to hold certain philosophical or political views, many of which are common among conservatives and libertarians. For example, Americans who "believe that one's personal and/or national "way of life" is under attack" or who are "nationalists, anti-global, [or] suspicious of centralized federal authority, [and] reverent of individual liberty" are painted in a negative light. Of course, Thomas Paine, John Adams, James Madison, Ronald Reagan and many other American icons have held such views."

In 2009, American Life League president Judie Brown wrote a column NAPOLITANO NASTINESS, which stated, in part,

"Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano wasted little time in going after President Obama's most beloved opponents, pro-life Americans. In a document entitled "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment" dated April 7, 2009, an "intelligence assessment" is provided to the Department of Homeland Security. What first caught my attention was a little note at the bottom of page two, which reads:

(U) Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

Clearly the Obama administration has drawn a line in the sand when it comes to Americans who wish to focus attention on the plight of the preborn, calling abortion by its proper name, and demanding equal rights and equal protection for all, regardless of age, health, place of residence or condition of dependency. Perhaps you are among the extremists this document is discussing; to my mind this sort of extremist is an American expressing his freedom of speech in an effort to bring an end to the heinous crime of direct abortion which is, after all, an act of murder. Well, look out. Things may get very unpleasant..."

After the 2012 election, LifeSiteNews reported Obama's collision with the Catholic Church is 'assured,' Fr. Pavone says, which stated in part

President Obama's re-election sets up a looming clash with people of faith over abortion, marriage, and the implementation of government-controlled health care - a fight the pro-life movement has vowed to carry out by defying the president, reforming an increasingly unfriendly Republican Party, and building a culture of life that transcends the boundaries of politics.
...A second Obama term means "the collision course of the Obama administration with the Catholic Church is assured," said Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life after the election.
.... The Obama administration has attempted to chill this speech, with Attorney General Eric Holder filing frivolous lawsuits against sidewalk counselors like Mary Susan Pine and churning out reports branding pro-life Christians potential domestic terrorists.
...Fr. Pavone called on pro-lifers to "an unwavering commitment to civil disobedience."

The Department of Homeland Security has also investigated pro-lifers as terrorists! [ Obama Administration Calls Pro-Lifers Terrorists Again 7/6/12.]

  • "Pro-Life Wisconsin and the Alliance Defense Fund submitted an open-records request that revealed the Department of Homeland Security's investigation of Wisconsin pro-lifers." [American Life League.]
  • "The Associated Press revealed last Tuesday that the Wisconsin Department of Justice again denied an open records request for a threat assessment prepared on pro-life activity in Wisconsin - despite the fact that the Department of Homeland Security had already determined that the report was an improper investigation of freedom of speech activities. See Pro-Life Wisconsin's media release. [American Life League.], in their April 2010 press release, stated in part,

"In February 2009, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Middleton Police Department inappropriately shared a homeland security "threat assessment", prepared by DHS and targeted at local free speech activities by pro- and anti-abortion groups." The threat assessment concerned free speech at a University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics meeting in Middleton, at which a vote was taken to approve late-term abortions at the Madison Surgery Center.

In January 2010 the Alliance Defense Fund, on behalf of Pro-Life Wisconsin, asked (view here) the Middleton Police Department for a copy of the report pursuant to Wisconsin's open records laws. The Middleton Police Department refused to disclose the report (view here), and further said that the DOJ similarly refused to authorize disclosure of the report, despite the fact that DHS had already determined that the report was an improper investigation of freedom of speech activities. "Clearly Secretary Napolitano's unjust inclusion of pro-lifers in a report on domestic terrorism influenced the Middleton Police Department in their decision to enlist the DHS."

The April 2009 article Report 'demonizes' those with traditional values noted,

"A pro-family group based in the nation's capital is decrying the not-so-thinly-veiled implications of an alarming Homeland Security report on "rightwing extremism." While stating it has "no specific information that domestic rightwing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence," the department's unclassified nine-page report issued last week -- and brought to public attention this week -- has raised the concerns of pro-family groups. Janice Crouse, a spokeswoman for Washington, DC-based Concerned Women for America, explains. "Here you have a group of people who are in charge of Homeland Security portraying conservative Christian people as people the nation really needs to be afraid of," notes Crouse. "It's so alarmist. It's spreading fear and suspicion, and it's demonizing those of us who hold true traditional values." According to Crouse, those are the values held by mainstream America and that are at the foundation of the U.S. Constitution. The report places opponents of abortion and homosexual "marriage" at the same level as inter-racial crimes. Crouse tells OneNewsNow the report is a direct attack on the church. "[It's] a direct assault on the basic principles of religious beliefs that have been here since the time of Christ," she argues. "These are the things that Christ died on the cross for." The CWA spokeswoman finds another aspect of the report "scary" -- specifically that the federal government is "launching major efforts to 'limit' domestic social conservatives..."

Pope Benedict XVI criticises airport body scanners
Pope Benedict XVI has spoken out against the use of body scanners at airports insisting that "human dignity must be preserved".
21 Feb 2010 "Every action, it is above all essential to protect and value the human person in their integrity."... "Respecting these principles can seem particularly complex and difficult in the present context. ... "The economic crisis has had problematic effects on the civil aviation sector, the international terrorist threat which, precisely, has in its line of fire airports and aircraft to realise its destructive schemes. "Even in this situation, one must never forget that respecting the primacy of the human person and attention to his or her needs does not make the service less efficient nor penalise economic management." ..."The skies represent a motorway of modern travel and as a consequence airports have become crossroads of a global village. "For you this reality represents an ever more task of complex organisation and it is a labour that if often discreet and barely known, not always noted but which does not escape the eyes of God, who sees all of Man's works even those that are hidden."

Airport body scanners have critics, including Pope
Pope Benedict XVI has joined civil libertarians and airline safety experts in voicing concern about new airport scanners like the ones destined for O'Hare International Airport and which will provide security officers with near-nude images of airline passengers.

EPIC.ORG BODY SCANNER FAQ: 6. Who else has objected to body scanners?
Many organizations have objected to the deployment of full body scanners. In April, a coalition of 30 organizations asked the Transportation Security Administration to suspend the full body scanner program. Individual passengers have also expressed concerns to the TSA.
Many people also object to full body scanners on religious grounds. Pope Benedict XVI has objected to full body scans because they fail to preserve the integrity of individuals. An Orthodox Jewish group has called full body scans offensive and demeaning, and said that they "fall short of acceptable norms of modesty" within Judaism and other faiths. A leading Muslim group has declared that "general and public use of [full body scanners] is against the teachings of Islam, natural law, and all religions and cultures that stand for decency and modesty."

In November 2010, Congressman Duncan of California condemned the body-scanners on the floor of Congress, stating in part, "This is much more about money than it is about security. The former secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, represents Rapiscan, the company which is selling these scanners to his former department... The American people should not have to choose between having full-body radiation or a very embarrassing, intrusive pat-down every time they fly, as if they were criminals. Far too many federal contracts are sweetheart, insider deals. Companies hire former high ranking federal officials, and then magically, those companies get hugely profitable federal contracts."

Pope Says Body Scanners Defile Personal Integrity

Are Full Body Scans an Affront to Modesty? How much is too much?

Sister Anne Flanagan: Full-body scanning: a religious question?
"...I object to full body scanning because I believe that, with the level of detail it offers (even if in silhouette), it violates what Pope John Paul called the spousal meaning of the body. The body's design itself makes it clear that we are meant for an "other", and we generally choose that "other" with care, because we are vulnerable in revealing ourselves. Even at the doctor's office, we don't go full frontal unless that is precisely where our health is in question. (That's why they give you that crazy paper outfit.) Self-revelation in the body is a lovely (in the full sense of the word), intimate gift. Because the body is meant for communion. Always.
It is not true that our body is just a sort of envelope for a sexlessly generic soul, or that it is a strange animal-like appendage to the "important," spiritual part, but that really doesn't matter in itself (although plenty of people in our culture seem to think this). We ought to be alert to the tremendous significance of being "bodied persons": God became incarnate so he could relate to us in this very human way! So there's something really not right, in my book, with a "revelation" of the body that takes place anonymously, apart from personal communion, in which I am being revealed to someone I cannot see or know; whose reaction I cannot gauge; whose trustworthiness with the sacredness of my body's image I am asked to take on the good faith of the United States' Transportation Security Administration. Citing Modesty, Two Women Refuse Full-Body Scans

Full-body scanners are an affront to dignity, says Pope.

Chertoff Linked to Body Scanner Manufacturer
"Since the attempted bombing of a US airliner on Christmas Day, former Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff has given dozens of media interviews touting the need for the federal government to buy more full-body scanners for airports. What he has made little mention of is that the Chertoff Group, his security consulting agency, includes a client that manufactures the machines. Chertoff disclosed the relationship on a CNN program Wednesday, in response to a question."

$11,000 fine, arrest possible for some who refuse airport scans and pat downs
November 20, 2010|By John Lantigua, Palm Beach Post
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is warning that any would-be commercial airline passenger who enters an airport checkpoint and then refuses to undergo the method of inspection designated by TSA will not be allowed to fly and also will not be permitted to simply leave the airport. That person will have to remain on the premises to be questioned by the TSA and possibly by local law enforcement. Anyone refusing faces fines up to $11,000 and possible arrest.
"Once a person submits to the screening process, they can not just decide to leave that process," says Sari Koshetz, regional TSA spokesperson, based in Miami. Koshetz said such passengers would be questioned "until it is determined that they don't pose a threat" to the public.

Pope sounds warning over airport body scans
Benedict XVI cites need to protect 'the human person in their integrity'
The head of the Roman Catholic Church spoke out against the use of body scanners at airports, saying human dignity must be preserved even as countries attempt to protect their citizens against acts of terrorism.

The Chertoff Connection: Body Scanners Are About Profits Not Protection
Now our deeply concerned government officials are forcing every law-abiding citizen to experience the humiliating treatment of entering a prison at the airports. We are forced to stand inside a whirling radiating scanner while images of our naked bodies are examined by strangers; and if we refuse, then we must be subjected to offensively intrusive pat-downs exactly like criminal prisoners on the verge of entering prisons instead of commercial airliners. And if you refuse both and decide to go home, TSA guards will chase you down and charge you an $11,000 dollar fine.

Special Report: Ohio Drill Demonizes Gun Owners as Terrorists [ Jan 19, 2013] A safety exercise involving police, national guard and emergency management officials in Portsmouth, Ohio was centered around the premise that individuals "disgruntled over the government's interpretation of the Second Amendment" plotted to use weapons of mass destruction to terrorize the local community.

Another terrorism report demonizes Christian patriots, preppers
"Classic government talking points are rehashed over and over in the report as an attempt to discredit anything associated with the real patriot movement.
The report by Brister and Kollars is included on a Fall 2012 curriculum reading list for a Terrorism and Political Violence course at The University of New South Wales in England. Top graduates of terrorism degree programs around the globe are being groomed for high-level positions with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other government intelligence agencies. And this is partly what they are being taught.

...The report also resides on the website for the Perspective on Terrorism, the journal of the Terrorism Research Initiative. The international organization, with advisers at universities and colleges from around the world, describes itself as "a unique platform for established scholars as well as academics and professionals entering the field of Terrorism, Political Violence and Conflict Studies." In Brister's report, anyone who believes the government is destroying our freedoms is cast into the same camp as neo-Nazis and Islamist terrorists. Christians, patriots and survivalists are called out by name: "Alongside well-studied Islamist terrorists, the United States is threatened by a loose affiliation of armed groups linked by a belief that the federal government has intentionally undermined the founding principles of liberty, democracy, and Christianity," the report states.

"The author of the West Point study, Arie Perliger, cites "anti-abortionists" as an active terrorist threat. He writes:

"The anti-abortionists have been extremely productive during the last two decades, amassing 227 attacks, many of them perpetrated without the responsible perpetrators identified or caught. And while, in both cases, the 1990s were more violent than the last decade, in the case of anti-abortion, the trend is much more extreme, as 90 percent of attacks were perpetrated before 2001."
American Life League President Judie Brown believes this is a smear tactic.

War on terror's new targets: Veterans, Tea Partiers, and Anti-Fed Activists
"Alex Jones' 2001 documentary film 9/11: The Road to Tyranny featured footage from a FEMA symposium given to firefighters and other emergency personnel in Kansas City in which it was stated that the founding fathers, Christians and homeschoolers were terrorists and should be treated with the utmost suspicion and brutality in times of national emergency."
