LAPD Chief Disappointed at Lack of Media Fawning Over 'Unrecognized Kind Act,' As Officers Allegedly Buy Clothes For Homeless Guy

This is sort of funny- perhaps a publicity stunt gone awry, (need a better PR agent perhaps?) In the wake of the cop that got international attention for allegedly buying a carton of eggs for a black woman in Alabama last week, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck seems disappointed that his department's stunt- err, I mean random act of 'humble' kindness promoted on twitter by the chief, only got coverage on one local KABC news outlet. (Actually, in the wake of the endless propaganda, our article last week outlined some 'ugly truths' about the Tarrant, Alabama police dept.: Enough of the Sappy "Cop Bought Shoplifter Eggs" story out of Tarrant, Alabama- Here is the REAL SCOOP, And It Ain't Pretty.)

ABC7 in L.A. reported LAPD officers buy clothes for homeless man, with reserve officers Bernard Khalili and Trevor Ingold pictured on TV as heroes, after they reportedly "drove a homeless man to a Ross Dress for Less store in Hollywood and bought him clothes and shoes earlier this month."

Witness Marc Najjar thought the officers deserved recognition and contacted ABC7. "It was an amazing sight to see. They are, I wanna say, angels in disguise... God bless them and keep them safe," he said.

Meanwhile LAPD Sgt. Leonard Calderon "says the officers never reported what they had done... We never would've known unless we would've got the phone call from ABC. Officers do this, not looking for attention. They realize that their job here is not just to enforce laws and to take people to jail. They see a need, they fill it."

It is not known how the witness Marc Najjar got both officers' full names in order to contact the TV news station a month after the saintly clothes buying incident.

In reality, a genuine spirit of Christian charity would not seek to boast about one's good deeds, such as taught in Matthew 6:1 which states "[But] take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father." Likewise, James 3:13-14 states "Let him show his works by a good life in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth."

If Beck really wanted to show genuine charity, he would apologize for all the illegal speed traps and traffic ticket quotas which he continues to defend, despite being sued and forced to pay out nearly $10 million dollars of taxpayer money to his own officers, who sued their department after beng forced to meet illegal traffic ticket quotas.

This guy is really a piece of work.

TY @ABC7 for sharing an otherwise unrecognized kind act by @LAPDHollywood Reserve Officers|#LAPD
