"We Will Not Go Down" - January 2009
A song about human rights, written in support of the Palestinian civilian victims of the war in Gaza.

Excerpt from: http://www.michaelheart.com/songsforcauses.htm

In January of 2009, during the war in Gaza, Michael wrote and released a humanitarian song in support of the Palestinian civilian victims. The song is called "We Will Not Go Down (Song for Gaza)" (click here to download song). It was posted on YouTube and originally made available as a free mp3 download. The response to the song has been overwhelming, to say the least. Here are a few stats:

Contrary to the belief of some people, the song has absolutely nothing to do with religion (and the various online postings by people claiming that Michael is a follower of any particular religion are totally erroneous). This song is strictly humanitarian in nature. It has been, and continues to be, played on radio stations and television channels in several countries, and it was chanted in demonstrations and rallies all over the globe. It has been translated into a dozen languages and subtitled on numerous clips. More than 500 new clips have been made with "We Will Not Go Down" by people all over the world, and thousands of websites have uploaded the clip and posted the lyrics (Note: Please scroll down to read an important notice regarding the above-mentioned videos).

Here are a few of his tweets includng a photo of Michael Heart with Canadian singer Bryan Adams.

Michael Heart also has a gofundme page. Excerpt:

I've discovered over the years that a lot of people really like my music. The record companies couldn't care less about it. But a lot of people do like it. And I'm very grateful for that!

Hi everyone! For those of you who don't know me, I'm Michael Heart. I'm an independent Pop/Rock singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. I came to Hollywood 25 years ago with a dream (like everyone else who comes here). In all that time, after knocking on so many doors in this brutal business, sadly none of them have opened for me. At least not enough to make a real difference in my career. Although I have worked with quite a few big names in the music business (Brandy, Will Smith, Jessica Simpson, Toto, Earth Wind & Fire, Natalie Cole, Phil Collins, etc), I was never given a real "break" - an opportunity to really fly on my own. When I occasionally played my songs to some of those big names, I received some major compliments and serious encouragement from them. "Keep rocking!", "Excellent work!", "You are amazing!", "Don't give up, you're gonna make it!" These are phrases I've been told time and time again.

I have independently released a handful of songs and low budget videos on YouTube. Some of them have been viewed a time or two. But once again, not quite enough to really kick my music career into high gear. It's very hard to keep trying as an independent artist with zero support from a major record company. For starters, it takes financial support to keep recording music, shooting music videos, promoting your music, marketing, etc. I have done what I could on my own until now, but it sure is hard!

So I would like to ask for your help in reaching my full potential. By supporting this campaign, you would be giving an independent artist a chance to present his music to the world in a professional and effective manner. If you're not familiar with my music, please click on this link to hear samples: http://www.michaelheart.com/music.htm

With your much needed support, I will be able to record new songs and make new videos. By making a donation to help propel my music career, you would be making a huge difference!
Thank you for helping me make this happen. I truly appreciate it!

Note: I found Michael Heart's website linked from the website of DEIR YASSIN REMEMBERED (http://www.deiryassin.org/). Excerpt:

Early in the morning of April 9, 1948, commandos of the Irgun (headed by Menachem Begin) and the Stern Gang attacked Deir Yassin, a village with about 750 Palestinian residents. The village lay outside of the area to be assigned by the United Nations to the Jewish State; it had a peaceful reputation. But it was located on high ground in the corridor between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Deir Yassin was slated for occupation under Plan Dalet and the mainstream Jewish defense force, the Haganah, authorized the irregular terrorist forces of the Irgun and the Stern Gang to perform the takeover.

In all over 100 men, women, and children were systematically murdered. Fifty-three orphaned children were literally dumped along the wall of the Old City, where they were found by Miss Hind Husseini and brought behind the American Colony Hotel to her home, which was to become the Dar El-Tifl El-Arabi orphanage.

I have almost 9 million views on my youtube channel. But this video, with only 6,400 views, is still my absolute favorite. Be sure to watch this powerful video of a man who was shot by cops, charged with attempted murder of a police officer, spent 2 years in prison and was aquitted of all charges by a jury of 12, without a lawyer, representing himself! The Ron Paul Bumper Sticker Is Still On My Car (Tearjerker tribute vid ;-)
Just for fun. This is a vid I made in 2008 after his campaign ended."remember the good times. A tribute to Dr. Paul and all his supporters who fight for freedom. Keep up the good work everyone!"
Several people at the time told me that this made them cry. ;-)

[The background story of the video, and my introduction to Ron Paul (from my dad when I was a kid) , along with my dad and my trip to the first Ron Paul meet-up in Pasadena, California - a meeting which was featured in the New York Times (they falsely mis-characterized the entire meeting by the way, and claimed that there were a bunch of jew haters there when none of that is true! No one even mentoned Jews at that meeting.) is here.
