What Rand WON'T focus on is the Clinton's involvement in the death of Vince Foster, Drug-running at Mena, Hillary's Drug-Smuggler Pal Jorge Cabrera, or explosives found inside the OKC Federal Building under Clinton's watch.
It's clear that Rand Paul is not one to pass an opportunity by. Now that the 2016 presidential primary maneuvers are gaining steam, it should be interesting to see where and when the Pauls will once again bring up the infamous 'blue dress' - the Clintons, and Monica Lewinski.
In an interview in Vogue magazine published Sep 18, 2013, Kelley Ashby, who's described as Paul's 'charming, secret-weapon wife' who worked for a political consulting firm, zeroed in on Monica Lewinski. The article is still on Paul's official Senate website. Excerpt:
VOGUE: Could Republican Senator Rand Paul Win the White House? Tough talk and fearless politics have made Senator Rand Paul a leader in the Republican Party. Could he - and his charming, secret-weapon wife, Kelley -win the White House?
...Kelley gives the famously dour senator something more than merely a pretty image-softener. The 50-year-old mother of three is an impassioned defender of her husband and his ideas. But she'll also speak her own mind. While her husband jokes that his "gut feeling" that Hillary Clinton will not run for president is a good thing since "all the polls show her trouncing any opponents," Kelley practically cuts him off to say that Bill Clinton's relationship with Monica Lewinsky should complicate his return to the White House, even as First Spouse. "I would say his behavior was predatory, offensive to women," she tells me.
...She is well aware that her accompanying Paul on his recent trip to Iowa added "another element" to his wooing of the Christian right. The couple attend a Methodist church, and they recently visited Jerusalem, singing "How Great Thou Art" in the Garden of Gethsemane, a trip Paul says softened his position on cutting foreign aid to Israel. And she recently left the political consulting firm the Strategy Group for Media, where she worked on behalf of Ted Cruz, one of her husband's chief rivals for the conservative base.
Gregory: Are these issues something that you really think will be fair game and an appropriate part of a campaign, should she be the nominee?
Paul: One of the workplace laws and rules that I think are good is that bosses shouldn't prey on young interns in their office. And I think really the media seems to have given President Clinton a pass on this. He took advantage of a girl that was 20 years old and an intern in his office. There is no excuse for that, and that is predatory behavior, and it should be something we shouldn't want to associate with people who would take advantage of a young girl in his office.... So, yes, I think it's a factor. ..it is a factor in judging Bill Clinton in history... This is with regard to the Clintons, and sometimes it's hard to separate one from the other. But I would say that, with regard to his place in history, that it certainly is a discussion. And I think in my state, you know, people tend to sort of frown upon that. You know, if there were someone in my community who did that, they would be socially-- we would dissociate from somebody who would take advantage of a young women in the workplace."
